Barbara Slack, LEED® AP
Since 1983, Barbara has been a project manager in the area of office, retail, residential, healthcare, civic and tenant improvement construction. She founded Owners Project Resources to focus on coordination, collaboration and communication in the project management process.
Barbara spent her early career providing project management expertise and new-homeowner support for a local condominium developer. She also spent several years working as the Director of Construction for one of Seattle's institutions, Bartell Drugs. Barbara has broad experience in project management for healthcare. On the staff of Swedish Medical Center, she oversaw the construction of a new Women's and Infant's Center and Ambulatory Surgery Center, as well as several medical office tenant improvements. In 1997, Barbara joined Seneca Group and continued to work in the healthcare environment. She provided equipment coordination, purchasing support and move coordination services for Seattle Children's when they opened the Melinda French Gates Ambulatory Surgery Center. She also coordinated moves for several research scientists and support staff as they moved to off-site lab facilities. Barbara spent two years assigned to Harborview Medical Center where she provided equipment budgeting and procurement support, as well as move coordination services for the Maleng Building and the Ninth and Jefferson Building. She worked on the Seattle Central Library leading the efforts to coordinate staff and public input into the design process. Her work also included the renovation of the downtown YMCA and the conversion of a Bellevue warehouse into Class A office space.
Barbara holds a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Washington. She has also received a Certificate in Commercial Real Estate Development, a Certificate in Management Skills and a Certificate in Values in Society from the UW.
