SUMMARY
Barbara provided equipment and move coordination services to Virginia Mason Medical Center as they prepared to open a new orthopedic unit and Emergency Department in the Floyd and Delores Jones Pavilion. Services included oversight and coordination of more than twenty departments responsible for various elements of the hospital’s set-up and ongoing operations. Barbara facilitated the coordination by managing and distributing standardized tracking documents utilized by all departments. Virginia Mason utilized the Virginia Mason Production System (VMPS) to resolve outstanding issues and track decisions. Barbara embraced utilizing these systems throughout the planning and implementation, as they are key to Virginia Mason’s ongoing continuous improvement initiatives. |
